If you want to see more quality Latino-themed films, set aside some time today to take your family, friends, and neighbors down to your local theater and watch this film. Strong weekend support for this movie means that it is less likely to get pulled from screens and it will once again show Hollywood that Latinos will come out to support important films

Who Stole Public Television?

Something curious happened while we were sleeping – public television has been stolen.

When broadcast stations moved from analog to digital transmissions and the old bunny ears would no longer be the baseline method to connect to television, millions were instantly hosed. I live in the Santa Clara River Valley so when I try to run my TV with one of those special digital converters, nothing happens. I am unable to pick up any channels.

Legendary pianist and composer Dave Brubeck passed away on December 5, one day shy of his 92nd birthday.

I don’t remember when it happened by in high school I fell in love with jazz. Maybe it happened when I was casually scanning local radio stations and stumbled on the jazz station. There was something comforting about the seemingly improvisational nature of the sounds that allowed me to detach from the chaos of living in a house with six other people while still trying to be a good student and stay out of trouble.
