The Ojai Half Marathon was my second half marathon, the first being the Santa To The Sea race in December. The Santa To The Sea was on a very flat course with an elevation loss but the Ojai race features a bounty of rolling hills.
Since my last health/fitness related post I have continued to eat right and go to the gym and am down about 33 pounds since this journey started. By the time I had my 3-month follow-up session with my doctor, he said that my diabetes and cholesterol were controlled. My glucose average went from a 166 to 91 which is in the very normal range. Normal is good.
Since my diabetes diagnosis three months ago I have lost 28 pounds. I feel great.
A few months ago I drove up to Sacramento and felt crappy during the long drive there and back. When I got back home I set up an appointment with my doctor and took a blood test. My glucose levels were high and I was called in to take an expanded set of tests after fasting.
Once again, my glucose level was high. I have diabetes.
