I’m still glowing from our trip up to the Eastern Sierras to be a part of the first annual Mammoth Trail Fest in Mammoth Lakes, California.
The dream of elite ultra runner, Tim Tollefson, the festival was also a must do for me and our family loves going there to enjoy the outdoors.
The festival started on Thursday with a group run with Mario Fraioli, then a panel and films.
I joined the festival on Friday to see the kids run then ran the first part of the 26k race to enjoy the next panel and film.
Saturday was the 50K race so I stopped by to see the race start then I did a run on part of the course so I could see what I missed the day before.
Finally, Sunday was the Dragon’s Back Ascent race from Twin Lakes. This was one of the main reasons I was stoked about the festival. I had run part of the course a couple of years ago and was determined to tackle the full trail, all 2.7 miles and 2,400 feet of it.
The party at the top was great and everyone was relieved to make it to the Mammoth Mountain summit. I can’t wait to come back next year. You should join us!
