My wife and I drove an hour to join our friend Kathy Cano-Murillo (a.k.a. Crafty Chica) at her book signing at Handmade Galleries LA in Sherman Oaks, CA.
When we arrived we saw a great window display with a huge poster of Kathy’s new book, Crafty Chica’s Guide to Artful Sewing: Fabu-Low-Sew Projects for the Everyday Crafter. As we made our way into the store, we saw several tables filled with super crafty folks and they were doing their thing – sewing up a storm and having fun.
While I was chatting with folks and looking at all the great handmade gifts in the store, I took this picture and posted it to my Twitter stream via TwitPic. After a few minutes, I received a Reply from someone on Twitter asking if I was Kathy’s publisher.
“No, I’m a friend and a fan,” I replied.
And so were the other 20+ people who stopped by to see Crafty Chica and buy her book.
