The iPhone is an instance where bricks and clicks end up in the same place, with me waiting for the damn store to open.
I went to the Apple Store in Thousand Oaks to take back my iPhone. After looking up the changes to my phone plan, I’d end up spending and extra $400 per year on my phone bill. $400 for iPhone + $400 equals serious cash. So I decided to take the sucker back and take the hit on the "opened package" fee.
When I got to the store, which is about 30 minutes from my home and a ride over the Conejo grade, the frigging store was closed for remodeling for another two days. This pissed me off and now walking back down the mall with my Apple bag was no longer cool. Now the bag was mocking me.
Luckily I have rapid mood swings to the sunny side of the world and figured this was a message that I should take the hit to my pocket book and keep the device. By the way, am I the only person in the world that thinks buying cool luxury devices is going to turn into cash at some point.
Then today, I plugged in the iPhone expecting instant activation/gratification and got the message below:
I’ve been trying to get this thing to work for the past 30 minutes but to no avail.
